Entry Requirements
Basic Snorkel Diver Course
Age approx. 6 years (may be younger depending upon suitable equipment availability)
Able to swim 50m freestyle.
Parental consent if a minor.
Satisfactory medical declaration.
(Duration of training: Theory 0, Practical 2 hours, Total 2 hours)
Snorkel Diver Course
Basic Snorkel Diver qualification.
Satisfactory medical declaration.
Parental consent if a minor.
(Duration of training: Theory 1 hour, Practical 2 hours, Total 3 hours)
Ocean Snorkel Diver Course
Hold Snorkel Diver qualification.
Satisfactory medical declaration.
Parental consent if a minor.

Advanced Ocean Snorkel Diver Course

The minimum age for BSAC membership is 6 years. However, training for BSD and SD may be undertaken with younger students.
Within the BSAC Snorkelling programmes any minor, irrespective of qualification, may only participate under the direct supervision of an adult or more highly qualified BSAC diver (Dive Leader or above).
