BSAC Snorkel Instructor Qualifications for BSAC Diving Instructors

BSAC Nationally Qualified Instructors (NQIs) may apply to the Diver Resources Team, BSAC HQ, for a form which should be used to register as Snorkel Instructors, in accordance with the following schedule.

BSAC Club Instructor (CI)

BSAC Club Instructors can crossover their diving instructor qualification to BSAC Snorkel Instructor (SI).  This will allow them to train BSAC members in the swimming pool environment to the levels of Basic Snorkel Diver and Snorkel Diver.  If they have the Lifesaver Award, they will also be able to train snorkel members for the Snorkel Lifesaver Award.

BSAC Open Water Instructor (OWI)

With Snorkel Lifesaver Award (or equivalent), BSAC Open Water Instructors can crossover their diving instructor qualification to BSAC Open Water Snorkel Instructor (OWSI).  This will allow them to train BSAC members in the open water environment to the level of Ocean Snorkel Diver.  If they have the Advanced Lifesaver Award (or equivalent), they will also be able to train snorkel members the Advanced Snorkel Lifesaver Award.
